Logistics Operations Manager

Overview
We have an immediate opportunity for a Logistics Operations Manager in our Newark, California office. Prior experience with logistics and inventory management is required.
The Logistics Operations Manager will play a key role in FusionStorm's Integration Center and Logistics Operations, managing the flow of physical products through the warehouse and the integration center (IC), where products are assembled, configured, and tested to meet specific customer needs. The Logistics Operations Manager will supervise a team who handles products and update associated information systems for the following business functions:
receiving, slotting, inventory, picking, packing, shipping, and returns (described below).
Responsibilities
Manage the warehouse logistics for the IC(s) (US, China and the UK) key operational areas and maintain company standards including shipping and receiving, inventory management, RMA's, warehousing, documenting processes, and industry certifications.
Oversee Receiving:
accept the item from a shipping company and manage the associated documentation.
Manage Slotting:
place the item in a pre-designated, numbered place in the warehouse for items of that type.
Inventory Management:
enter the item into the database, manage quantities, conduct physical inventories to confirm quantities in stock, etc.
Picking:
retrieve specified items from inventory and update the database to indicate their change in location and/or status.
Packing:
assemble the designated items for a given project into larger boxes or pallets, stretch-wrapping them, and verifying that all of the designated items are included in the set.
International Shipping:
prepare the necessary documentation for domestic or international shipping, notify the shipper, and transfer custody to the shipper. Update the information system to include changes in status, shipment tracking information, etc. and provide proof of shipping (and perhaps customer receipt) to Finance for customer invoicing.
Strategic material management and procurement experience with managing high volume transaction of technology parts and forecasting needs / requirements in order to maximize volume discounts with key partners.
Returns:
manage the return of items from customers and their subsequent disposition
Inventory management tools are up to date and all processes are being followed to ensure all inventory and financial systems are in compliance. Includes overseeing the company's inventory management system and developing, enhancing and maintaining the processes and systems in accordance with best practices.
Develop and document warehouse and logistics standard operating procedures and best practices.
Understand and abide by all financial, security and operational policies.
Oversee warehouse and logistics operations at the IC for the US, China and UK
Direct and coordinate the activities of logistics personnel responsible for receiving, slotting, counting, picking, packing, shipping products in the IC and external warehouses.
Manage all inventory tasks including daily, weekly and quarterly counts.
Establish goals, objectives, and performance standards for the department.
Develop, implement, and enhance the policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines that govern the operations of the department.
Work with other departments to understand their needs and develop ways to improve business processes to enhance overall operating efficiencies. Interacts regularly with Finance and Sales.
Manage external business relationships with companies that provide logistics and warehousing services.
Manage the department budget.
Interview and hire staff, and oversee staff training.
Qualifications
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
Experience with logistics and inventory management, including identifying and implementing best practices.
Experience compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
Experience detecting and solving problems by analyzing information, identifying the underlying principles, facts, reasons, and causal relationships, and developing and implementing a strategy to solve the problem.
Experience developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
Experience managing and maintaining positive external business relationships.
International shipping experience required.
Excellent communication skills.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with dynamic priorities and demands.
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service for both internal and external customers.
Highly motivated to meet personal, team, and corporate goals.
Office automation software skills and experience with ERP systems.
Understanding of basic budget development and monitoring.
