For various positions in biologics, the job functions range from leading the R&D efforts and overseeing different programs, to designing and performing research projects in molecular and cellular biology, as well as immunology for developing protein based cancer therapies.
For medicinal chemist, the job functions include designing and synthesizing novel chemical entities optimized for potency, selectivity, pharmacokinetics and in vivo efficacy.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate positions in biologics:
1.Design and conduct cellular assays to evaluate therapeutic proteins. Or,
2.Generate stable CHO cells to overexpress therapeutic proteins. Or
3.Design and conduct immune assays to characterize and evaluate therapeutic proteins. Or,
4.Design and generate protein expression system to overexpress therapeutic proteins.
5.Document R&D progress.
6.Communicate with coworkers to facilitate R&D progression.
7.Other duties assigned by the company authorities.
Responsibilities of Scientists/Sr. Scientists positions in biologics:
1.Design and develop cell based and immune related assays to evaluate therapeutic proteins/antibodies. Or,
2.Design and develop Protein chemistry, protein expression and purification system. Or,
3.Design and develop Molecular cloning and protein engineering system.
4.Work with outsource experts to facilitate the generation, humanization and characterization of therapeutic antibodies.
5.Document R&D progress.
6.Communicate with CRO to manage/QC the collaborating projects.
7.Other duties assigned by the company authorities.
Responsibilities of Director position in biologics:
1.Lead biological drug discovery and development from concept to clinical study in a highly competitive business environment.
2.Drive innovation through a deep understanding of the oncology field and the application of new technologies and methods
3.Evaluate novel pathways and mechanisms for immunology and oncology therapeutic intervention
4.Plan, design and develop protein expression system, immune assays, cellular assays and animal models, to facilitate the development, including generation, screening, characterization, humanization, validation, evaluation and over-expression, of therapeutic proteins.
5.Lead the preparation of research grant proposals, manuscripts and patents.
6.Summarize, prepare and present research data for publications, conferences or internal uses.
7.Monitor the communication with CRO to manage/QC collaboration projects.
8.Document and Co-ordinate R&D progression.
9.Other duties assigned by the company authorities.
Responsibilities of Scientist/Sr. Scientist in medicinal chemistry:
1.Integrate and utilize modern medicinal chemistry principles and tools.
2.Work with internal multidiscipline team to design and champion the design molecular targets.
3.Work with CROs to execute the synthesis, purification, and characterization of complex small molecules.
4.Advance drug discovery programs by interacting with other chemists, biologists and external collaborators to understand and optimize DMPK, in vitro and in vivo pharmacological properties.
5.Contribute effectively to patent, report and scientific publication writing.Requirements for Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate positions in biologics:
1.BS/BA or MS in molecular/cellular/immune/cancer biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or related field.
2.For a senior position, at least 8 years (for BS candidates) or 5 years (for MS candidates) hands-on postgraduate experiences in biotech or biomedical researches in molecular, cellular, or cancer biology or related field.
3.Knowledge and skills in the following fields: (1) in cellular biology, including but not limited to that in cell culture and cellular assays, such as those in cell proliferation, migration, colony forming, and so on; (2) in immunology, including but not limited to that in analyzing immune cell subsets, monitoring immune cell functions, establishing assays for antibody-antigen interaction, antibody specificity and affinity; (3) in molecular biology, including but not limited to that in molecular cloning, expression, DNA/RNA/Protein isolation, purification and analyses, and so on; (4) in protein chemistry, including but not limited to protein expression , purification and characterization, and so on.
4.Effective communication skill, motivated, responsible and cooperative.
Requirements for Scientist/Sr. scientist positions in biologics:
1.BS/BA, MS, PhD, MD or PharmD in molecular/cellular/immune/cancer biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or related field.
2.Extensive knowledge and skills in cellular biology, or in analyzing immune cell subsets and monitoring immune cell functions, or in molecular biology and protein engineering.
3.At least 5 years (for PhD level), 8 years (for MS) or 10 years (for BS/BA) hands-on postgraduate experiences in biotech or biomedical researches in immune/molecular/cellular/cancer biology or related field, for a senior scientist position.
4.Excellent in designing, organizing, executing and leading the project with general direction from the company authorities.
5.Proven success in applying his/her knowledge and skills in scientific discoveries leading to publications, patents, marketable products or that may lead to marketable products.
6.Effective communication skill, motivated, responsible and cooperative.
Requirements for Director position in biologics:
1.PhD, MD or PharmD in molecular/cellular/immune/cancer biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or related field.
2.At least 10
year hands-on postgraduate experiences in biotech or biomedical researches in molecular, cellular, immune or cancer biology. Experience in antibody protein based drug development is a plus.
3.Extensive knowledge and skills in molecular, cellular, immune and cancer biology, protein/cell engineering and animal models of cancer, including but not limited to the designation, expression, validation, evaluation and production of proteins by various technologies in vivo as well as in vitro.
4.Excellent in designing, organizing, executing R&D leading to the development of therapeutic proteins.
5.Proven success in applying his/her knowledge and skills in scientific discoveries leading to publications, patents, marketable products or that may lead to marketable products.
6.Effective communication skill, motivated, responsible and cooperative.
Requirements for scientist/senior scientist positions in medicinal chemistry:
1.Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry with 5
years pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry industrial experience.
2.High level of creativity and productivity with strong synthetic problem solving skills. Ability to champion the chemistry efforts into new directions to achieve project milestones.
3.Proven track record of innovative project contributions including peer-reviewed publications.
4.Proven ability to work well with others in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.
5.Strong knowledge of medicinal chemistry principles with a solid understanding of key ADME, biochemical and pharmacological principles and able to effectively integrate and apply these to the optimization of multiple parameters during lead generation and lead optimization efforts.
6.Excellent communication skills and able to present the rationale, key data, issues and accomplishments of the chemistry efforts to other members of the department.
