Job Summary
This position is located in Newark Ca. The qualified candidate will be responsible to grow business in the West. This role meets with prospects and partners to identify and close new design project bids, write proposals, maintain sales database and oversee the development of marketing collateral and activities. Strong verbal and written communications and prior sales/marketing experience are required.

Bachelor's degree (Technical focus in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering a plus)
5 years experience in Technical Sales
Technical Sales background could be in ANY of the following product areas:
Engineering Consulting Services
HW Products
Capital Equipment
Medical Systems
Large Scale Telecommunication Equipment
High End Computer Products
Solid knowledge of the technical product development process
Sales of a high value service
Proven sales quota attainment
Skilled in working with short sales cycle
Ability to craft custom sales proposals and knowing how they relate to product development phases
Very good listening skills
Savvy at knowing what to say/what not to say during the sales process
Great communication (verbal/written/presentation); Technical writing experience a plus
Strong database of contacts at technology companies
Good working knowledge of MS Office
Knowledge of Microsoft CRM and other CRM's preferred
Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn
Reliable, accurate, able to meet deadlines
Strategic thinker, versatile

Research companies to identify targets and discover key personnel
Prospect a network of engineering managers; develop and negotiate that business
Schedule and attend meetings with prospective clients to increase company sales
Handle sales presentations regarding Acorn's capabilities
Collaborate with the engineering team to develop budgetary estimates
Author sales proposals incorporating technical and contractual language
Present proposals to executives and sell it to signature
Organize and maintain sales information/database
Support Project Managers and Contract Administration
Attend networking events and trade shows
Optimize collateral for Sales use
Travel locally on a limited basis
Occasional travel to other Acorn offices for training or as needed.

Salary and commission plan as well as full benefits plan.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
