Director of Credit and Customer First SUMMARY The Cash Application Manager is responsible for monitoring, managing and maintaining the proper application of customer payments from various sources in a timely and accurate manner to the company AS400 system.
The role manages a team of Cash Application Specialists and is responsible for hiring, training, coaching, providing performance reviews and conducting disciplinary action as warranted.
The role will work closely with internal AR team members, IT and 3rd party service providers to manage team performance, enhance processes and lead process improvement initiatives within the team.
The role will work closely with credit and collection personnel and management to provide exceptional service and build team cohesiveness.
A strong customer service mindset is required for success.
The Cash Application Manager will work to coordinate daily workflow and ensure compliance with SLAs.
This role will work closely with key customers and the cross-functional teams to understand and resolve issues while adhering to established company policies and procedures.
The role will be expected to adhere to all internal audit, data security and SOX guidelines as it relates to the cash application function.
While other duties may be assigned, the ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Coordinates the development and testing of the AS400 accounts receivable (A/R) interfaces and cash application processing with banks and third party providers Hire, develop, and motivate an appropriate number of cash application specialists commensurate with the volume of all A/R cash processing activities Monitor, evaluate and implement improvements to the automated cash application process for execution as to meet or exceed department goals Communicate with banks, treasury, IT, accounting, and accounts receivable personnel for input and questions related to the cash interface and application process Manages all A/R cash files to support customer payments, deductions, and adjustments to A/R Assists with A/R integration efforts on special projects as assigned Collaborate with credit management team to implement improvements in the cash application process Identify, investigate, diagnose and implement modifications and improvements for all technical aspects of cash application processes Manages A/R Adjustments and research of unapplied credits to determine disposition and resolution of unresolved items Monitor and maintain A/R cash applications standards within SOX guidelines.
Manage processes and implement improvements on B2B credit card processing Meet established SLA's and KPI's for cash application evaluation processes Assist sales and customer service teams as it related to credit lines and the approval process Assist in system enhancement/conversion testing as needed Analyze historical data to spot trends and problem areas that can be assessed as part of process improvement initiatives Assist with necessary customer communications Ability to organize and interpret data as well as communicating analytic results/recommendations Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to completion with sound business judgment Ability to develop ad-hoc and monthly reports and utilize data as it relates to cash application Ability to provide constructive feedback to management team on team members Assist in internal and external SOX audit support as needed Change Management and Project Leadership Support special projects with data through use of data mining tools and techniques or from OTC data files to resolve open issues Participate as an SME on cross organizational projects (process and technology) Assist Director in leading initiatives to automate, standardize and integrate cash application systems working with cross-functional teams Identify process improvement opportunities and lead related change implementation Serve as a change leader for process improvement and implementation of Shared Service best practices SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Leads a team of cash application specialists (4-6 team members) WORKWEEK The regular workweek is forty hours, however, requirements of the position may warrant extended work hours.
Associate must be available to work Saturdays.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Minimum BBA/BS degree in Business related field preferred, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree Minimum of five years relevant, applicable and transferable experience in a corporate and/or Shared Services environment or equivalent Core Competencies:
Able to read and interpret complex contractual agreements Strong working knowledge of transactional processes and systems Significant attention to detail Strong analytical capabilities Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Compensation Range 64,300.
